Position
: Sr. Devops Engineer
Location
: Merrimack, NH
Duration:
6+mos, long-term potential
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer
on behalf of client . This position is based in Merrimack, NH.
The Sr. DevOps Engineer will be part
of the Fidelity team that is responsible for the platform engineering and
support of the client’s internally hosted Git source control system (Atlassian
Bitbucket Data Center edition). They must demonstrate a solid understanding of
DevOps, SRE, and possess automation skills. The ideal candidate is an
administrator, engineer, and developer.
Primary responsibilities:
- Perform software upgrades and patching of the
platform
- Enhance and improve the performance testing
environment for the platform
- Build reporting capabilities to audit usage of
platform by business unit
- Develop an advisory dashboard/system to report
on policy violations within codebases
- Develop and maintain automation used for
deployment of the platform
- Optimize the deployment to handle current and
future workload capacity needs
- Validate disaster recovery and backup
processes to ensure no data loss
- Ensure the uptime and availability of the
platform for developer community
- Ultimate ownership for problem resolution and
root cause analysis
- Vendor management to ensure timely resolution
of production outages
- Participate in evaluation of SaaS-based cloud
offerings
- Tier 3 (Platform Engineering) on-call support
for the platform
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or
closely related field) with at least 6+ years of relevant IT experience
- Experience in the implementation and/or
administration of Git source control systems for an enterprise, experience
with Atlassian Bitbucket would be ideal
- Software development and automation skills
using Python and Ansible (familiarity with Go is a plus, but not required)
- Linux system administration experience
- Experience supporting Java-based Tomcat
application stack as Atlassian products are based on this stack (no Java
coding required)
- Experience providing Continuous
Integration/Continuous Delivery solutions using tools such as
Stash/Bitbucket/Git, Cloudbees Jenkins or Open Source Jenkins,
Artifactory, XRay and uDeploy
- General experience with AWS would be
beneficial as we may move some of these applications to the external cloud
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
and willing to “dig deep”
- Proven ability to follow priorities and
timelines.
- Proven ability to work independently or as an
integral member of a team.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
